New Additions to
INTERMODAL DRIVER DATABASE (IDD)
In the past drivers license expiration dates have not been monitored. This may change in the future. Your driver may be delayed if you have not updated license expiration data for your drivers.
Please remember to update the IDD when your drivers have a new license with a new expiration date even though the license number is the same.
BNSF requires that a driver record has a PIN number for the driver record to be forwarded to them.BNSF will not have any information on a driver without a PIN number.
This number is a unique code assigned by your company to your drivers.
PIN codes can have these characters: Letters A-Z Numbers 0-9. It is recommended that they be a minimum of 4 characters and a maximum of 10. Drivers will need this PIN when using BNSF facilites with automatic kiosks. Make it easy for them to remember.
Your drivers may have difficulty accessing BNSF facilities if the IDD records does not include a PIN number.
FUTURE FIELDS Additional fields have also been added to the IDD Driver record. These are for future use. You do not need to make any entries in these fields now. The fields, for Owner/Operator Drivers, are:
- Tractor License (for Owner/Operators)
- Tractor State
- Tractor RFID (If available)
Some equipment providers are anticipating a future requirement to associate a driver with a tractor. The tractor may be tagged electronically. The tractor fields are to accomodate this for owner/operators. These fields are in the driver record.
At the main menu there is a selection for "Tractor Database. This allows information for "company" trucks to be entered into the IDD. This will allow any driver to be associated with a company truck in the future.
Again, these fields are for future use and you do not need to enter any information in them now.
